The press turns the half inside out, which is what empties the membrane. Squeezing by hand gets maybe half of what is in there; this gets most of it.

The perforations hold back seeds and pulp, and the juice goes where you point it — not across the counter and into your eye.

Stainless Steel

Citrus is acidic, which is exactly what eats cheap metal and stains plastic. Stainless steel does not corrode and does not hold the smell.

Good to Know

Place the fruit half cut side down against the perforations. Putting it in the other way round is the most common mistake and gets far less juice out.

Large oranges and grapefruit will not fit — this is sized for lemons and limes.
