The Water Measure Sets the Result

This is the whole trick. More water means a longer steam and a harder yolk; less water means softer. The included cup is marked — so soft, medium and hard boiled become a repeatable measurement rather than a guess with a timer.

Good to Know

Pierce the wide end of each egg with the pin on the measuring cup before steaming — it stops them cracking.

Steam burns. Lift the lid away from you, and let it cool before washing. Never immerse the base.
